Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Security Applicant Processor contributing to the processing of an average of 4,000 cross-overs/reciprocity actions, 500 Continuous Evaluation Program (CEP) reportables and initiate an average of 2,000 periodic reinvestigations and 800 applicant initial investigations per year.
  • Collect, investigate, research, document, and forward to adjudications, all reportable information from government employees and contractors within the IRTPA and DNI mandated timelines.
  • Collect, investigate, research, document, and forward to adjudications, as applicable, all adjudicatively relevant information received through automated records checks (ARC) and the continuous evaluation program (CEP) for employees and contractors, in mandated timelines.
  • Follow-up as appropriate to ensure timely action on all Automated Record Checks (ARC) and CEP events.
  • Document, file, and maintain all actions in the PeopleSoft security system of record.
  • Process quality applicant and employee background investigation initiations within 7 days to meet IRTPA mandates.
  • Process quality contractor e-nominations in ten days or less in accordance with ICD 704, ICD 709, and ICPG 704.4 standards.
  • Submit appropriate documentation to applicable databases to complete the National Agency Checks in less than 30 days.
  • Prepare the National Agency Check report using the established template and place in ePSF, annotating action in the Investigations Module in PeopleSoft.
  • Identify any outstanding actions on a weekly basis to the designated POCs. Process contractor e-nomination crossover requests in two days or less and in accordance with ICD 704, ICD 709, and ICPG 704.4 standards.

 

Qualifications

 

  • TS/SCI Clearance
  • A minimum of 1 year of previous Background Investigator, Personnel Security Specialist, or TS/SCI adjudicative experience
  • Experience processing security applications of government and contractor personnel
  • Experience with accomplishing timely Automated Record Checks (ARCs) and National Agency Checks (NACs)
  • Proven proficiency documenting, filing and maintaining security actions in the PeopleSoft security system (or a similar system)
  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy of security processing actions
  • Proven ability to produce timely, high-quality reports that include useful recommendations
  • Effective interviewing skills, excellent writing skills and superior customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with sources to resolve missing or discrepant information
  • Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Clear and concise writing skills
  • Positive, engaging communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills to ensure meeting required timelines and FIS quality standards
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
