Position Summary:


SC3 is actively seeking an Intermediate Apple macOS systems integration administrator that will be responsible for providing Apple Mac workstation image development, macOS configuration development, end-user support, and project assistance for a DoD (Army) customer. The objective is to provide a positive customer and end-user experience, while simultaneously accomplishing tasks associated with various projects.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in Apple macOS / UNIX image development, experience in government contracting (particularly in DoD), outstanding communications skills, strong interpersonal skills, a good understanding of configuring the macOS at the command line, including an understanding of computers and network operations in a DoD environment.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Able to integrate the latest macOS releases into a DoD environment by applying current STIGs and best practices using Puppet, Ruby, and Casper.
  • Work alongside government leads to perform various tasks preparing for, and implementing, projects in the macOS environment.
  • Maintain and update standardized Apple Mac images (including configuration profiles).
  • Utilize Puppet, Bash, and Ruby to manage Apple macOS.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the macOS performance or configuration in a timely manner.
  • Perform system administration tasks assigned on a rotating weekly schedule.
  • Provide weekly reports on tasks and duties performed to task lead.
  • Utilize the command line to administer Apple macOS.





Required Skills & Certifications:

  • Bachelors in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related.
  • 3-4 years of Apple macOS development (scripting) and administration experience, 5-6 years w/o a degree.
  • 3-4 years scripting in a programming language (bash, sh, and Ruby).
  • A current Comp/TIA Security+ certification or CISSP certification.
  • A current Apple macOS certification (Apple Certified Support Professional or Apple Certified Technical Coordinator)
  • Experience configuring macOS systems settings and accounts from scripts and the command line.
  • A proven ability to multi-task.


Desired Skills & Certifications:

  • Experience with JAMF Casper and Puppet.
  • Xcode, Cocoa, Objective-C, Applescript, Perl, and Python
  • Good understanding of networking concepts and infrastructure.
  • Troubleshooting connectivity issues and hardware support.
  • Remote and desk side support.
  • VMWare virtualization.


Clearance Required:

  • DoD Secret (Cleared to SSBI).


  • Up to 10%, largely local travel will be required.
