Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities: The candidate for this position establishes and manages service readiness, ticket task assignments and completion, standard operating process creation and documentation tracking, maintains IT systems CM and asset repositories, conducts functional and physical configuration audits at various locations and ensures compliance with established CM processes.

Duties:

 

  • Implement and maintain a full, centralized asset management/configuration management database of all network and server equipment
  • Provide monthly configuration management reports showing network diagrams, equipment spreadsheets, warranty and licensing information, and configuration information on entire network and all servers, VMs, switches and routers in the infrastructure
  • Maintain government approved configuration baselines for all integration activities, validating configurations against configuration management databases and confirming operational viability and security compliance before releasing systems for production use
  • Assist in the development and updates of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for review and approval of new hardware and software configurations prior to deployment, assisting with vulnerability assessments in conjunction with program standards
  • Ensure all new hardware and software components are reviewed and approved by the Office of Data and Technology (ODT) Security Team prior to installation.
  • Ability to write appropriate cutover notifications and update of the new release content of final package deliverables
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for review and approval of new hardware and software configurations prior to deployment, assisting with scanning and vulnerability assessments in conjunction with ODT
  • Develop and present Change Control Board (CCB) .documentation for all existing and newly fielded hardware. The candidate will assist in the presentation of changes at the CCB, answering questions and adjusting approaches as requested to mitigate change related impact and risk
  • Review and provide feedback on technical systems upgrade and configuration documentation

  • Written and oral communication skills, including preparing and presenting briefings for customer as well as communications between engineering disciplines skills
  • Demonstrate exceptional teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Able to perform duties with minimal supervision and take lead roles when required
  • Support material release and fielding of system components
  • Compile data on standardization and interchangeability of parts to expedite logistic activities
  • Develop and present CCB documentation for all existing and newly fielded hardware and software. The candidate will present changes at the CCB, answering questions and adjusting approaches as requested to mitigate change related impact and risk
  • Ability to establish and run a release readiness meeting
  • Provide operational support for the hours required and per government and company guidance for holidays, emergency closures, and maintenance activities
  • Maintain an on-call roster and respond within 1 hour for critical systems, data and network issues as required
  • Utilize the ticket tracking system to document a complete, accurate and detailed account of an incident and outages activities. Excellent communication, interpersonal, technical and organizational skills
  • Able to perform duties with minimal supervision and take lead roles when required

Qualifications

Clearance: Public Trust

Minimum Years of Experience: 8 Years

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Configuration Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline or without degree 10 or more years of experience related to position

 

 

Other Skills (Desired): ITIL Foundations, and Security+ CE Certification
