    Responsibilities

    The candidate’s general tasks include providing general engineering support to multiple firewall and perimeter security systems and devices. The well-qualified candidate will possess and apply comprehensive knowledge regarding perimeter security devices, switches and routers. The candidate must be capable of planning the testing, implementation, and maintenance of perimeter security technologies and devices. The candidate must be capable of evaluating performance results, performing risk assessments, and recommending changes affecting perimeter security configuration/implementations. Keep well-informed of technical developments of importance and participate in developing or setting standards. Manage change control for designated systems. Continuous understanding of the business processes the system(s) support.

     

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Manage an enterprise level network spanning several geographical locations
    • Manage network performance and maintain security
    • Experience in Web content filtering, firewalls- specifically Palo Alto, Cisco ASA and VPN
    • Articulate solutions involving network design, implementation and operations.
    • Troubleshooting switch, routing and WAN connectivity issues
    • Engineer, develop and maintain a routing and switch management strategy
    • Provide general technical support to the service center and network services teams to resolve end-user issues
    • Facilitate technical troubleshooting by third party engineers
    • Routinely review event logs and mitigate any identified issues
    • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for the systems 
    • Provide remediation plans for the testing and implementation of third-party firmware and security updates.
    • Develop and maintain a security profile 
    • Monitor and maintain a baseline configuration for production routers and switches

    Qualifications

    Minimum Years of Experience: 8-10 Years

    Required Education: Bachelor’s degree

    DesiredCertifications: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA)

    Skills Required:

    Demonstrated knowledge of the following:

    • Network administration experience (Excellent Layer 2 & 3 Networking Skills and firewall configurations)
    • Firewall, Router and Switch configuration and management
    • Knowledge of capacity management
    • Good understanding of security issues
    • Experience monitoring service thresholds
    • Data manipulation and extraction skills
    • Submitting reports
    • Manage help desk queue
    • Work in a team environment
    • Excellent attention to detail

    Knowledge of the following

    Platforms:  CISCO IOS, NX-OS, Linux, OS X, UNIX, VMware, Windows 7/XP/Server

    Hardware: Nexus 7000, Catalyst 3800, 4500, 6500 switches; Cisco ASR, ISR series routers; Cisco NAC servers, Cisco Load Balancers, Cisco ASA and Firewall Services Module (FWSM)

    Protocols:  BGP, DNS, EIGRP, MPLS, POP3, SMTP, SNMP, STP, TCP/IP, VTP
