    Responsibilities

    Job Description:

    Support maintaining, updating, and operating unified voice, video, and web conferencing communications infrastructure services by providing full lifecycle engineering support resulting in solutions that are secure, effective, responsive, complete and efficient.

    The Unified Communications Engineer will be responsible for supporting the most Innovative, Intuitive, and Integrated (I3) solutions that can be deployed to meet the communications needs of GSA employees.  The successful candidate must have some experience and current technical familiarity with one or more of the following: [1] Cisco Telepresence Management Suite (TMS), [2] Cisco Video Communications Server (VCS), [3] Cisco Meeting Server (CMS), [4] Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), [5] Video encoding, decoding, transcoding and multicast streaming to VLC media player. The Unified Communications Engineer will also be responsible for working with our team to satisfy all customer requests received from the hotline, email and ticket queue. Other tasks include scheduling and monitoring VTC multicast streaming events and maintaining hundreds of registered Cisco video endpoints.

    Qualifications

    Required Education/Skills:

    1. 2 years of IT experience, 1 year Unified Communications experience
    2. Experience with one or more of the following platforms: Elemental, Cisco TMS, Cisco VCS, CMS, CUCM, and Cisco Jabber.
    3. Experience in resolving unified communications hardware, software and configuration issues
    4. Candidate must be able to obtain a US “Public Trust” clearance
    5. Associates Degree or Higher in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline

    Desired Education/Skills:                                                                                          

    1. Net+, CCNA Route and Switch, CCNA Voice or Collaboration, ITIL® Foundations
    2. Familiarity with enterprise voice and video implementations
    3. Interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate effectively, self-awareness, and excellent written and oral communications.
    4. Ability to drive efficient resolution of incidents through analytical and structured approaches to problem solving
